  • [Audio] Jacque, where did you pick up your artistic and modelling skills?

Necessity. I made things out of wood and I had to learn how to carve propellors and other things because in the early days you couldn't buy a ready-made propellor for a miniature airplane so we had to make them. So we had to develop skills and to do that you got a book on how to carve propellors. In other words, if you looked at the experience of other people, you would save yourself a lot of trouble rather than slowly evolving. Then you would learn how to balance a propellor. If you didn't balance it, the airplane would shake and so you would have to learn that. The more you learned the more you had to bring to ideas. The more you read about nature, technology the more inventive you became. You cannot invent things unless you have been exposed to a lot of different concepts. The more concepts you are exposed to, the more experience you have, the more you can bring to a subject.
